SPRING foods for happy eating

Like many of us you don't have time to plant your own little backyard garden. Maybe you don't even have enough time in your hectic schedule to visit your weekly Farmer's Market. But you can still eat delicious fresh foods when you purchase what's in season.

Eating seasonally is the rage these days. When you eat according to the seasons you get better nutrition from your food - but it also tastes better, is cheaper, and helps your local economy.

Here are the foods you can count on giving you the most from your local grocery store this Spring:

FRUITS
Apricots
Blood Oranges
Kiwi
Lemons
Limes
Pineapples

VEGETABLES
Artichokes
Asparagus
Avocado
Fava beans
Kale
Lettuce
Onions
Peas
Potatoes
Radishes
Rhubarb
Spinach
Turnips
